Paystack, the Nigerian payments company acquired by Stripe in 2020 for approximately $200 million, has processed its 100 millionth transaction and announced expansion into three francophone African markets — Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire and Cameroon — as part of what CEO Shola Akinlade described as an "acceleration of our African ambition."

The milestone was reached on Saturday when a Lagos-based e-commerce merchant processed a ₦8,500 order for clothing — chosen by the system as the symbolic 100 millionth transaction and marked with a congratulatory notification to the merchant.
