Enyimba Football Club of Aba have completed the signing of Ghanaian international striker Michael Anim from Accra Hearts of Oak for a reported fee of ₦85 million — believed to be the highest transfer fee ever paid by a Nigerian Premier Football League club for a Ghanaian player.

The 24-year-old, who scored 19 league goals last season to win the Ghana Premier League Golden Boot, has signed a three-year contract with the eight-time Nigerian champions. He will wear the number 9 shirt vacated by Adewale Ajayi, who joined Turkish club Fatih Karagümrük in January.

Club statement

"Michael is exactly the kind of striker we have been looking for — mobile, clinical, and with an eye for goal from outside the box," said Enyimba head coach Finidi George. "He will add a new dimension to our attack and help us challenge for the NPFL title and in the CAF competitions."

Anim told the club's official website that he was drawn to Enyimba's history and their continental ambitions. "I know this club's reputation across Africa. I want to win trophies here and show that the NPFL is a league that attracts top players."
