The Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, has set up a 5-man interim committee for Bayelsa United chaired by an experienced administrator, Dr Peter Singabele
The 5-man committee consists of Dr. Peter Singabele, Sir Braveman Wodi, Godson Ekarde, and Ono K. Akpe while Ken Akpolaemi Odogu will serve as Secretary.
Singabele's appointment follows the dissolution of the previous board after Bayelsa United were relegated from the Nigerian elite League, NPFL.
The appointment was announced by the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Dr. Peter Akpe, during the weekly Prosperity Walk on Thursday.
He stated that the immediate task of the interim committee is to bring Bayelsa United back to the NPFL
"The task is to bring Bayelsa United out of relegation back into the Premiership level which is the right position for the club. Dr Peter Singabele, Braveman Wodi, Godson Ekarde, Ono Akpe, and Ken Akpolaemi Odogu, these persons have six months task." Akpe said.
The Deputy Governor also appealed for all stakeholders in the state to join hands in giving necessary support to ensure the dream of returning Bayelsa United to the NPFL is realised.
