The Nigeria Wrestling Federation has taken time to celebrate the resounding victory of its President Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR after he was re-elected as chairperson World Customs Organisation (WCO) Council.

The Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service on Saturday during the World Customs Organisation (WCO) Council sessions held at WCO Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, unanimously emerged chairperson of the Organisation for the second time, adding to the historic record of becoming the first Nigerian to head the 73-year-old organisation, which has 187 member countries and is the highest decision-making body in global customs administration.

The Vice President Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Chris Amkpila in a goodwill message issued out through the Federation Media Assistant, Promise Okotoko, on behalf of the board and wrestling family, described Adeniyi's recognition as a significant milestone in projecting Nigeria’s image positively on the global stage

The statement while congratulating the Customs boss, management, and staff of the NCS noted Adeniyi's exemplary understanding of the sector and his steadfast commitment to redefining a sector he knows very well and is creatively remodeling.

The NWF maintained that the victory is a testament to the tenure extension of Adeniyi as Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu last week.

"We at the Nigeria Wrestling Federation are extremely proud of the impact our president is making beyond the shores of Nigeria. Just last week, we were celebrating his tenure extension, and we are not over that yet. This is truly inspiring."

"Adeniyi has shown exemplary leadership, innovative policy initiatives, and unmistakable capacity for global competitiveness. He understands the sector very well, thus stabilising the NCS with strategic mandates of trade facilitation, revenue generation, and border security."

"It is pleasing to see that his accomplishments and proven capacity on the home front have attracted the trust and confidence of global leaders. We, therefore, pray that God continues to supply him with wisdom, strength, and courage on this journey." Chris stated.
